Batch Edit Surface Build Definitions
If the build definitions for surfaces where in the properties dialog box and they could be batch edited by selecting multiple surfaces.. that would save so much time!
Instead I have to right click properties on every single surface to do this!!
Sheet Set Manager – Timeout on Request
Sheet sets on slows networks cause problems, but this could be easily mitigated by adding a timeout feature on sheetset network requests.
If a file can’t be found in X seconds then stop checking…
The ability to turn off automatic updating of Material Take Off temporarily
Be great if you could turn off automatic updating of material take off calculation temporarily.
For some larger calculations every time I update the corridor it hangs forever
Quantity Takeoff Criteria Screen – Delete Mutiple Entries or Allow Delete Key Use
Managing materials in the Quantity Take off Browser could use a lot of work..
Great additions would include
- Find/Replace Ability
- Batch Replacement Ability
- Use of delete key to remove entries
- Been able to select multiple entries at once
Match Parameters Between Corridor Regions – Different Corridors
Be awesome if you could match parameters between corridor regions. As in a different corridor!
It would be also handy if this could be done in the prospector as well..Maybe on the right click menu.
Corridor Profile Target – Alignment Should be Selected Automatically from baseline
When specifying a profile target it should automatically know which alignment to use based on the baseline.
Data Shortcuts Editor – Browse Folder does not allow a pasted address!!
I wish I could paste an address into the data shortcuts editor so that I could quickly go to the correct data shortcuts folder. Instead I have to manually go find the path every time.
This would also be useful for the prospector too!!!
Block Attributes with Central Justification move after Drawing Recover
I wish central justified attributes would stop moving after recovering a drawing. I am aware this is an Autocad Problem.. but maybe there is a way we can avoid using them..
ATTSYNC does not correct this. The only way to correct this is to redefine the block

Text Recognition in JPG’s using Adobe Acrobat XI..
If you like manually entering information/text from jpg’s and images please disregard this post…
I think this is a handy tip though.
Say I have a low quality jpeg that looks like below.. I want all the text from it.. but the problem is, it is an image..!
Not a problem!.. read below.
Open the image in Adobe Acrobat Pro.. im using version XI… but you can use version 9 too.
From the edit menu select “Edit Text & images”
A new bar appears on the right.. in the “Text Recognition Section” – select “in this file”.. (You can also do this for multiple files)
If you just want what you are looking at select the “current page” otherwise select all pages
Now the magic happens.. all the text is selectable… just copy and paste to wherever you need it.
Now in excel
